Domestic incident results in arrest

A Ruston man was arrested early Saturday morning after he allegedly abused a woman who was visiting his home.

Ruston Police responded to a complaint of an assault at a Robinette Drive residence about 4:00 a.m. Saturday. The alleged victim was found walking away from the property. Officers saw that she was crying with visible bruises on her face and arm.

The victim said she went to the residence of Lucas Paul Mooney, 21, with some friends. She said while she was at the residence, she and Mooney got into an argument. She said Mooney grabbed her by the hair and struck her in the face with a closed fist. She and Mooney fought, and she was hit multiple times.

Mooney was stopped by other officers as he was leaving the residence in a vehicle. He refused to make a statement regarding the incident. Suspected marijuana was found scattered across the seat of his vehicle.

The victim reportedly told police she had previously lived with Mooney for a time.

Mooney was booked for domestic abuse battery, possession of marijuana and probation violation. His bail information was unavailable.
