The Louisiana Tech men’s and women’s cross-country teams host the Mook 4 Invitational on Saturday morning at Tech Farm.
The women’s 5K race begins at 8 a.m. while the men’s 7k race will follow at 8:40 a.m.
“I am really excited to have my first cross country meet here,” said Tech Director of Track and Field Brian Johnson. “It should be a great turn out and I know our athletes are ready and excited to compete on our home turf.”

The field will consist of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Grambling State, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi Valley, and ULM.
The Bulldogs last competed at the Lake Charles Toyota McNeese Cowboy Stampede on Sept. 23. The LA Tech women’s team finished fourth while the men finished eighth.
The women will kick things off first with the 5k at 8:00 a.m. CT. Rebecca Quebedeaux and Brooke Fontenot continue to lead the charge for the Bulldogs. Quebedeaux broke the 20-minute mark to finish 17th with a time of 19:50.85. Fontenot finished just outside of 20 minutes at 20:14.92 to finish 27th.
The men finished in two groups with the trio of Jayce Wimbish, Kenneth Smith, and Dillon Moree finishing in the top 40. Wimbish earned Conference USA Runner of the Week with a time of 22:34.32 in the four-mile race for a 17thg place finish. Smith crossed at 22:42.67 while Moree finished with a time of 22:42.67.
