Search yields drugs, arrests

Two suspects were arrested last Tuesday after the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on Gahagan Road near Simsboro.

Kenyotta M. Wilson, 41, and Candace M. Barbaree, 38, were charged with numerous drug violations and outstanding warrants during the search.

LPNET executed the search warrant about 9 a.m. Tuesday morning and found Wilson and Barbaree in a bedroom where they were taken into custody. A search of the bedroom located methamphetamine, marijuana, alprazolam (Xanax), and drug trafficking paraphernalia such as digital scales, glass smoking pipes, and packaging materials.

Both were arrested for possession of alprazolam, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Barbaree was additionally booked on a Ruston Police arrest warrant for theft.

Wilson was arrested on three misdemeanor warrants from the Grambling Police Department and an arrest warrant from LPNET.

Wilson’s bail was set at $31,500.
