Ruston Regional hosts annual Trunk N Treat

By Emma Stone

From 10 a.m. to noon today, Ruston Regional Hospital is hosting its third annual senior Trunk N’ Treat event.

With 22 and more vendors, booths will be handing out goodie bags, informational pamphlets for senior citizens and candy.

April Easley, new administrator for Ruston Regional Hospital, decided to continue the event’s tradition.

“We started doing it after COVID-19, that way people didn’t have to get into congested areas,” said Easley. “We wanted to let the community see where we are and have other places be able to spotlight themselves and their business.”

The Trunk N’ Treat will take place in the parking lot of the hospital. Everyone is encouraged to stay in their car.

“Some items being offered are snacks, treats, pins and notepads,” said Easley. “This way, later on, if they need a home health service, they may look at their pen and say, ‘I’ll call this one.’”

This year’s theme is ’80s and each car will be decorated to match its own theme, especially the staff.

“It will start in the front and go down the south side of the building,” said Easley. “It’s open to any age, but senior-focused on information.”

Ruston Regional Hospital is located at 1401 Ezell Street, Ruston. Staff will have flags out to guide traffic to the correct starting locations.
