Resisting man arrested after struggle

A Grambling man was arrested Monday evening after Lincoln Parish deputies responded to a Water Tank Road residence regarding an unwanted person on the premises.

While deputies were responding, they learned the unwanted person was Ladara O. Moore, the subject of four previous calls at the location in the past two months. Moore had been told previously by the Sheriff’s Office not to return to the residence.

When deputies arrived, they heard a disturbance coming from inside the home and Moore, 35, walked outside, yelling profanities in the yard which is surrounded by nearby residences.

Moore smelled of an alcoholic beverage and continued yelling and using profane language. He was given several opportunities to lower his voice but refused to do so. He was placed under arrest but attempted to get away from deputies and had to be physically restrained to be searched.

Moore was placed in a patrol vehicle, but he refused to place his legs inside. After numerous opportunities to do so, deputies attempted to physically place Moore inside the vehicle, but he began to fight the deputies. The struggle continued, and a deputy displayed a Taser and ultimately had to use it. However, Moore continued to fight and resist and continued to struggle against deputies and struck one deputy with his knee.

Moore was eventually placed in the patrol car and was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for remaining on premises after being forbidden (criminal trespass), disturbing the peace, four counts of resisting an officer, and battery of a police officer.

Bail was set at $10,000.
