Ruston Police arrested a local man last week after investigating a domestic violence incident on Fisher Street.
At about 2:00 a.m. last Monday, officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a woman crying and screaming inside an apartment. As officers were responding, another caller said a white SUV had left the apartment at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was found nearby and stopped, and the victim contacted. The victim said Joseph J. Pizzini, 51, had strangled her and beaten their 13-year-old son. Police saw a large lump in the center of the woman’s forehand and hand marks around her neck. She told officers she had been strangled until she lost consciousness.
Pizzini was located at the apartment and taken into custody. Pizzini said the victim slipped on some liquid on the floor and that he never touched her or the child. He was booked for domestic abuse battery with strangulation and child endangerment and domestic abuse of a child.
Bail was set at $75,000.
