A Texas woman was arrested by Ruston Police early Sunday morning after an alleged domestic fight at a West Alabama Avenue apartment complex.
Jamyya Monroe, 18, of Mount Vernon, Texas, was arrested for battery of a dating partner following an investigation of the altercation.
The alleged victim said Monroe had become upset because the victim had a male friend from her hometown at the apartment. The victim said Monroe sent her multiple text messages while the man was visiting. Once the man left, Monroe allegedly approached the victim and yelled at her and then grabbed her. The victim attempted to push Monroe off her but was unsuccessful. She said Monroe tossed her around the room, damaging the closet door and a lamp.

Officers saw multiple scratches on the victim’s stomach that matched her statement on how the incident occurred.
Monroe admitted pinning the victim to the bed. She was arrested and booked at a Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Bail had not been set at publication time.
