Following an historic 2023 volleyball season, Ruston High placed multiple students (and their coach) on the 2023 All-District 2-5A team.
“I’m proud to have so many of our players have their efforts recognized by the coaches in our district,” Ruston head coach Mandy Cauley said. “I’m grateful for their individual efforts, of course, but more proud of what they were able to accomplish playing together.”
Senior Hannah Rollins was voted Most Valuable Player, while junior Harper Cauley was named Offensive Player of the Year. Freshman Baylor Cauley was named Freshman of the Year.
Both seniors Jade Smith and Allie Richardson made first team as middle and libero, respectively, while senior outside hitter Cala Wilson and senior rightside hitter Shelby Freeman made second team.
Junior defensive specialists Katelyn Rollins and Mariah White was named to the second team.
The Lady Bearcats finished 29-13 overall and earned the No. 7 overall seed. Ruston was the first Division I, Non-Select school in North Louisiana to make it to the state tournament in Lafayette before falling in straight sets to Mt. Carmel Academy.
