LA Tech announces T&F schedule

Louisiana Tech track and field head coach Brian Johnson announced the team’s 12-meet regular-season schedule, five indoor and seven outdoor, featuring the Jim Mize Relays to open the outdoor portion of the schedule.

“I am truly excited about our 2023-24 season schedule,” Johnson said. We will face some great talent this year that will help us prepare for conference, regionals, and nationals.”

LA Tech will open the outdoor season with a trip to Fayetteville, Ark., and the Arkansas Invitational on Jan. 12. The Bulldogs will close out January with trips to the KMS Invitational (Jan. 21) in Birmingham, Ala., and the Robert Platt Invitational (Jan. 26-27) in Houston.

The indoor regular season will conclude with a return to Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational (Feb. 9-10). The postseason will begin with the CUSA Championships in Lynchburg, Va., from Feb. 23-24. The NCAA Indoor Championship will occur on March 8-9 in Boston.

The outdoor season opens with the Jim Mize Relays on March 15-16. The Bulldogs will then travel to Baton Rouge on Mar. 23 for the Battle on the Bayou before heading to the Texas Relays from March 27-30.

April will see LA Tech travel to Texas A&M for the 44 Farms Team Invitational (Apr. 6), Kentucky’s Jim Green Invitational (April 19-20, and the Warhawk Classic hosted by ULM (April 26-27).

The postseason begins May 10-12 with the CUSA Championships in El Paso, Texas. The NCAA Regional will be held in Lexington, Ky., on May 22-25, with the NCAA Championships on June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
