The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for domestic abuse battery at his South Chatham Spur home Saturday after responding to a domestic incident.
Samuel J. Patterson, 44, was arrested after an argument with the alleged victim that turned physical. The victim told deputies she went to the home to speak with Patterson and the conversation turned into an argument. She claimed Patterson grabbed her, shoved her, and slapped her across her face.

Deputies noticed a security camera on the front porch and asked Patterson if the camera would have recorded any of the incident. Patterson gave consent for deputies to view video on his cell phone.
The video showed the alleged victim arrive at the home and meet Patterson in the front yard. Both parties were engaged in a verbal argument when Patterson reached out and grabbed the victim by her shirt. The victim told Patterson several times to let her go. When he did so, he struck her with an open hand across her face.
Patterson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Bail was set at $1,000.
