A The Colony, Texas, woman was arrested in Ruston Tuesday afternoon after she caused a disturbance in the parking lot of a local business.
Chelsey M. Martin, 31, was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia after Ruston Police responded to a call of a woman screaming obscenities in a parking lot.

Officers found Martin in a parking lot in the 900 block of South Vienna Street where she was screaming in a loud voice that could be heard a block away. Officers reported she appeared be experiencing an “altered mental state.”
When officers attempted to remove bags from her hands in the interest of officer safety, she refused to release them after numerous directives. She was placed under arrest and a glass pipe used for ingesting methamphetamine was found in one of the bags.
Bail was set at $1,000.
