In a decisive display of dominance, Grambling asserted themselves by securing an impressive victory against The College of Biblical Studies, ending with a commanding score of 159-18 Tuesday night.
The margin of victory is believed to be an NCAA Division I record for men or women.
The College of Biblical Studies is located in Houston, Texas. The team was 0-6 prior to the contest with the average margin of loss coming by 53.3 points per game with their closest loss being an 80-57 loss to Randall University in its last game on December 5. According to the school’s website, their eight-player roster consists of all freshmen. The Grambling game is the program’s only DI opponent.
Grambling was led by Arianna Mosley with a notable 27 points 6 steals and 5 rebounds. The team showcased depth with players like Kahia Warmsley who notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, Amanda Blake and DeMya Young both contributed 15 points, respectively.
On the opposing side, Alyssa Lowe emerged as the top scorer for the College of Biblical Studies with 8 points. However, the team faced substantial challenges, shooting at an 18.6% efficiency rate from the field, struggling to counter Grambling’s offensive onslaught.
Grambling shot 59% from the field (70-119), amassing 122 points in the paint and 69 points on fast breaks. The Lady Tigers led 46-4 after the first quarter and 82-10 at halftime. GSU forced 57 turnover, scoring 78 points off of turnovers.
