Ruston police arrested a man last week for trespassing at a local store.
At about 8:30 p.m. on December 23, officers responded to the Raceway convenience store on La. Highway 33 regarding an unwanted person. The manager told officers he had personally banned Gary Martin, 59, of Ruston, from the store on a previous occasion for rude behavior toward female employees. The manager said Martin was asked several times to leave and refused, stating “call the police, they won’t do —-.”
During the investigation. Police viewed video indicating Martin was told several times to leave by the manager.
Martin was spotted across the street at another store and was placed under arrest and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for entering and remaining on premises after being forbidden (criminal trespass).
