Senior guard Jaliyah McWain had a stellar night for Ruston High on Friday after a 26-point performance and leading Ruston to a 76-48 win on the road at Northwood-Shreveport.
The victory gives Ruston a three-game winning streak as district play approaches.
“Tonight we played one of the most complete games we have all season,” Graf said. “We played hard for four quarters, executed on both ends, hustled through mistakes and played together. I’m really proud of this win especially not having played in a week and against the talent and athletes that Northwood has. Happy we could get the win and hoping to see these same habits and energy roll over into the next few games.”
McWain led all scorers her 26 after shooting 10-of-16 from the floor and earned a double-double after pulling down 10 rebounds. Senior Zaccheya Jackson added 16 points, while junior Ella Kate Jones finished the night with 12 points.
Ruston scored at least 20 points in quarters two, three and four.
The Lady Bearcats return to action tonight at 6 p.m. in a non-district matchup with Sterlington.
