The Grambling State University baseball program and head coach Davin Pierre have announced its 2024 schedule. The Tigers will play 52 regular season games that feature 30 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contests, 19 home dates and three neutral site classics.

Grambling State, which claimed the 2023 SWAC West Division title with 29-26 overall record and 22-7 mark in conference play, will open the season at Minute Maid Park for the Cactus Jack HBCU Classic Feb. 16-18. It’s the first of the three neutral site classics for the G-Men. The Tigers will take on Prairie View A&M (Feb. 16), Southern (Feb. 17) and Jackson State (Feb.18).

GSU takes on the Andrew Dawson Classic in Vero Beach, Fla. Feb 23-25 where the Tigers face Florida A&M (Feb. 23), Alabama State (Feb. 24) and North Carolina A&T (Feb. 25).

Grambling State plays FAMU once again for a two-game series in the HBCU Garr-Lucas Classic in Lawrenceville, Ga. March 1-2.

The non-conference road slate features games at the Louisiana-Monroe (Feb. 20), Arkansas (Feb. 27), Tulane (March 6), Nicholls State (March 8-10), Louisiana (March 26), Northwestern State (April 23) and LSU (April 30). The Tigers will also host Northwestern State on April 2.

Grambling State goes head-to-head with SWAC rival Jackson State in a pair of mid-week games tabbed as non-conference contests. GSU travels to JSU on March 12 and will host Jackson State at Wilbert Ellis Field on April 9.

On March 19, the G-Men welcome Wiley University for its home opener. Jarvis Christian College pays a visit to Grambling for mid-week bout on April 16.

Grambling State opens SWAC play on the road for a weekend series at Alcorn State on March 15-17. GSU’s first home conference series is against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on March 22-24.

The Tigers’ home conference series slate lines up as follows – Southern (April 12-14), Alcorn State (April 19-21), Texas Southern (April 26-28) and Prairie View A&M (May 10-12).

The rest of GSU’s road conference series includes trips to TSU (March 28-30), PVAMU (April 5-7), UAPB (May 3-5) and SU (May 16-18).

The 2024 SWAC Baseball Tournament is set for May 22-26 in Atlanta, Ga. and will be held at Russ Chandler Stadium on the campus of Georgia Tech.

“This season’s baseball schedule is very competitive,” said Pierre. “We’ll have a televised game on the MLB network, which is a great opportunity to showcase our baseball team. Our third weekend we travel to Atlanta for the Garr-Lucas classic. After that, we have the opportunity to play LSU, Arkansas, UL, and Tulane. These are teams that were all in postseason play. So here at Grambling, we are not only playing competitive baseball, but we are providing exposure for our baseball program and players—which will challenge us as a team and prepare us for conference play.”

Grambling State baseball season tickets officially go on sale Wednesday, January 24th.
