Repeat shoplifter hits store

Ruston Police arrested a Simsboro man Wednesday after he committed several thefts at retail stores.

Officers responded to Rack Room Shoes at U.S. 167 and Woodward Avenue regarding a man stealing tennis shoes on three separate occasions. Justin Darnell, 39, was located under the overpass of the Louisiana Tech exit of Interstate 20. He was issued a criminal summons for theft by shoplifting.


Later in the day, officers responded to the Walmart Supercenter on the North Service Road regarding the theft of a bicycle by Darnell.

Due to the repeated thefts, Darnell was arrested and booked for four counts of theft. Bail was set at $4,000.
