According to the latest reports from the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the Lincoln Parish area could see up to six inches of rainfall over the next 72-96 hours.
According to the NWS-Shreveport, rain will start sometime after lunch today and will continue for the better part of today through Wednesday and even possibly into Thursday and Friday.

“We had this cold pocket of air, and now warm air is going to come over it,” said the NSW spokesperson. “It has nowhere to go but up and that makes clouds and rain soon to follow. Southwest winds over northeast winds (Sunday night). Winds will become easterly (Monday) and southeast and then it will start to warm up as we get to Tuesday and Wednesday. But we will still have chilly rain (today) but not as cold as (Sunday).
“It may be spotty at first but it will settle in. It will probably be at least mid-morning at the earliest; it won’t be daybreak.”
According to US National Centers for Environmental Information, north Louisiana averages around 5.5 inches of rainfall in January.
