RHS speech and debate shines at LCU

By Kyle Roberts

Ruston High’s speech and debate team garnered numerous places and high finishes at the 2024 Cenla Classic held at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, La.

“This was a great tournament for the students,” Ruston speech and debate coach Sydney Phillips said “They all have been practicing for months and working on perfecting their specific performances. What’s so great is that every team member who attended this tournament is a first year member. It was mainly freshman, but we also had one junior and one sophomore member in their first year competing. I think these results really set the tone for the coming seasons. As they continue to improve season to season, I know we will see a continued increase in wins.”
