A Farmerville man was arrested for armed robbery after he allegedly stole a vehicle in Ruston at the point of a pistol Friday.
Rashad Donnell Singleton, 22, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Friday morning after he apparently returned to the scene of the incident on Illinois Avenue.
Ruston Police were told Singleton pointed a firearm at the victims and told them he would shoot them in the face. Singleton reported fired the pistol out of the driver’s window while traveling on Interstate 20.
Singleton then went to a Illinois Avenue residence where he again confronted the victims and used the pistol to take one of the victim’s vehicle without permission. Singleton later returned to the residence where he was “waiting inside the stolen vehicle for the complainants,” according to an officer’s report.
Police found Singleton asleep behind the wheel with his pistol tucked between his arm and torso. Officers retrieved the gun and Singleton attempted to flee on foot before he was arrested.
The serial numbers on the gun had been obliterated, according to police.
Singleton was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of a weapon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and resisting an officer.
Bail was set at $425,000.
