BREAKING: Bomb threat at GSU

UPDATE: Grambling State University officials have confirmed a bomb threat was made Thursday morning to the university’s nursing building.

The Grambling State University Police Department evacuated the nursing building as well as Jacob T. Stewart Hall, the Conrad Hutchinson Performing Arts Center, and Charles P. Adams Hall.

At 8:44 a.m., university officials sent alerts through its “Gram Alert” system to students telling them to shelter in place until the situation was resolved. Persons evacuated from the aforementioned buildings were directed to the intramural center. Campus police and the Grambling Police Department are investigating.

In early 2022, multiple historically black colleges and universities experienced bomb threats. While Grambling State University was not the target of those threats, the campus increased its vigilance to ensure campus safety. Out of an abundance of caution, GSU performed safety sweeps of select buildings.
