An alleged domestic assault led to the arrest of a Ruston man Tuesday afternoon.
Ruston Police responded to a convenience store on Farmerville Highway about 1 p.m. Tuesday to meet with a reported domestic violence victim. The woman told police her boyfriend recently moved out of their shared residence. She said she went to his home on Farmerville Highway to take his clothing to him. The woman said Corey Mamon, 24, got into her vehicle and a verbal altercation occurred.
The woman told police Mamon became upset and struck her in the left eye. She reportedly told Mamon to stop and get out of her vehicle, but he struck her in the face several more times.
Police saw several scratches on the woman’s face and bruising under her left eye.
Mamom was interviewed at his nearby residence. He said the woman received the scratches while he was attempting to leave, and she would not allow him to go.
Mamon was arrested for domestic abuse battery and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. His bail amount was $2,500.
