
A Louisiana State trooper arrested a Grambling man for his second DWI about midnight Tuesday morning.
Mario J. Lewis, 39, was stopped on Interstate 20 for speeding 85 in a 70 mile per hour zone. Lewis admitted to speeding and not having a driver’s license. A records check showed Lewis’s license had been suspended for a DWI in 2022. He was issued citations for speeding and driving under suspension.
The trooper detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and administered a field sobriety test. Based on the test, Lewis was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where a breath test indicated Lewis’s blood alcohol concentration was .152g%.
Lewis was booked for second offense DWI. Bail was set at $2,500.
