Man booked in Grambling theft

Grambling Police arrested a Mansfield man after he allegedly stole a large amount of cash out of a vehicle parked at a residence. The victim reported to GPD on January 31 that several days earlier, a Rent-A-Center worker came to her residence on Mansfield estates and stole a fanny pack containing $2,600 from a vehicle parked under her carport.

The victim said the incident was caught on her video surveillance system at her house. The video showed a man walk to the front door of the house from a Rent-A-Center van, knock on the door, and then return to the van where he retrieved a paper which he took back to the door. He then walked to a black Mercedes parked under the carport and then back to the van.

On February 2, Marcus L. Bryant Jr., of Mansfield was interviewed by police. Bryant said he did go to the residence and went inside the Mercedes but did not steal anything. He stated he only opened the vehicle to look at the interior.

Ryan was arrested for theft of property over $1,000 and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Bail was set at $2,500.
