Graveside services for Henry Russell Brazzel, age 79 of Dubach, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Corinth Cemetery in Dubach, LA with Rev. Scott Jennings officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Henry was a loving husband, Daddy, Papaw and friend as well as a talented mechanic.  He was known as “Hen do” because “Henry could do and fix anything”.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending ballgames.  Henry had an outstanding work ethic which he ingrained in his daughters.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, especially deer and squirrels, fishing and working in his garden and shop.  Henry fiercely loved the animals he has owned over his lifetime.  He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.  Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Sybil Maxine Roberts Brazzel; his wife, Mary Jane Brazzel (whom he missed dearly); a brother, Frankie Joe “Pop” Brazzel and a nephew, Kenny Joe Brazzel.

Henry is survived by his siblings:  Gordon Brazzel, Cathy Edwards (Charlie), Linda Gray (Ron), Roger Brazzel (Cheryl), and Connie Reeves (Tony); children: Debra Williamson with special friend, James Yeager of Baskin, LA, Beverly Rogers (Kirk) of Many, LA and Amy McGuire (Stuart) of Ruston, LA; step-children: Charles “Jeff” Edwards of The Woodlands, TX, Lori Edwards-Willett (Michael) of Bennington, VT and Rodney Edwards of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren: Kasey Gallagher (Jeffery), Stacey Aron (David), John Wiggins, Jr. (Darrah), Skyla Davidson (Matthew), Jerry Williamson, Jr., Stephanie Bennett, Curtis Rogers (Krystal), Morgan Rogers, Bryce McGuire, and Briley McGuire; step-grandchildren: J. W. Edwards (Gladys), Dani Edwards, Jeffrey Edwards, Jr., Jacob Edwards, Clint Harrison (Amanda), Valerie Taylor (Jamie), and Houston Harrison (Tara); best friend, Spooky Hockenjos and numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and numerus nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Houston Harrison, Bryce McGuire, Kirk Rogers, James Yeager, Stuart McGuire and Travis Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers are Gordon Brazzel, Roger Brazzel, John Wiggins, Jr., Jerry Williamson, Jr., Curtis Rogers, Billy Joe Youngblood, Charlie Edwards, Tony Reeves, Joe Lee Brazzel and Spooky Hockenjos.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Reeves Memorial Hospital in Bernice, LA, Princeton Place in Ruston, LA and Premier Hospice for the exceptional care he received in his final months.
