
Ruston High’s Bearcat Belles took first place in multiple categories this weekend at the Marching Auxiliaries Regional Competition in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The Belles took first place in the small-select division, as well first place overall out of all divisions.
All three teams dances in hip hop, lyrical, and open won first, with the lyrical dance winning the judge’s award, given to a performance that stands out to the judges regardless of score.
The senior ensemble made up of Bethany Colvin, Laina Parkman, Paige Taunton, Mary Laura Hunt, Ellen Ramsey, Kate Pullin, Anna Bowling, and Preslea St. Andre also won first place.
Hunt would go on to win outstanding performer for her first place solo in the senior division, while Pullin and Ramsey won first place with their duet.
Colvin and Gabby Simmons would take second place with their duet.
