A highly-touted football player from Farmerville who signed with LSU last year has been charged with attempted second degree murder, according to the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office.
LSU running back Treyvion “Trey” Holly and two others have been charged after the investigation of a shooting last Friday around 10:30 p.m. at the Union Villa Apartments on Georgia Street in Farmerville.
Farmerville Police, deputies with the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, and EMS found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the apartment complex. A female victim had been shot three times and a man was wounded in the lower leg. The woman’s injuries were identified as critical.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation of the scene and determined three shooters fired multiple rounds. The investigation also revealed the shooting was the result of earlier altercations at a local apartment complex.
Sheriff Dusty Gates said Holly, 19, was taken into custody for attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon. Gates said Holly turned himself in Thursday. Bail was set at $512,000.
Also arrested was Jordan Ramond Jones, 18, of Marion. He was booked for attempted second degree murder and illegal use of weapons. His bail was set at $510,000.
A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with attempted second degree murder, illegal use of weapons, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. The youth’s bail was set at $522,000.
Holly, one of the most accomplished players in Louisiana high school history, has been suspended from the LSU Tiger football team.
LSU Athletics released a brief statement Thursday. “We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish,” LSU said. “This student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.”
Holly holds the state high school rushing record, totaling 10,523 career yards in his time at Union High School in Farmerville. He signed with LSU as a four-star recruit in the 2023 class and played in three games last fall, retaining his red shirt to play four more years.
An update will be provided as the Sheriff’s Office releases more information.
