Four men were arrested in Grambling Saturday afternoon after they were allegedly involved in a fight.
As Grambling Police responded to the scene on Maria Street, a truck occupied by four men and a baby was seen leaving the scene. The vehicle was stopped and a passenger, Alonzo Peterson, 61, exited the vehicle using profanities and acting in a belligerent manner. He was taken into custody but initially refused to give his name or date of birth.
Other officers who spoke to witnesses determined that during the fight, there was talk of retrieving a firearm. Peterson, along with Kadario K. Jones, 32, of Simsboro; Jason Peterson, 39, of Lafayette; and Shamecia D. Gardner, 26, of Ruston, had gone to the residence and engaged in a fight with individuals there.
A records check showed that Jason Peterson and Kadario Jones were convicted felons. A search of the vehicle discovered a handgun.
The four men were arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Alonzo Peterson was booked for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, and illegally supplying a felon with a firearm. Gardner was booked for disturbing the peace, simple battery, and illegal carrying of a weapon with child endangerment. Jones was charged with disturbing the peace, simple battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Jason Peterson was booked for disturbing the peace and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
