The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Bossier City man Sunday night after a citizen’s report of a reckless driver in a vehicle with no tail lights.
A deputy responded to Interstate 20 at about 8 p.m. and saw a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle was stopped at the Quik Trip on the South Service Road in Ruston.
When the deputy approached the driver, he detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Myron J. Sumlin, 40, admitted he had marijuana in his pocket. The marijuana was seized, and an open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle. A records check showed warrants on Sumlin through the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office for flight from an officer, following too close, and driving under suspension. A criminal history check revealed Sumlin had been convicted of possession of marijuana in 2021.
Sumlin was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for possession of marijuana—second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, no tail lights, open container, driving under suspension, and the Webster parish warrants.
