A Ruston man was arrested for his second DWI last Wednesday night after he was involved in a traffic crash.
Ruston Police received a report of a hit and run at the Neighborhood Walmart on West California Avenue. The alleged hit-and-run driver, Max King, 46, was across the street.
King said he was not attempting to flee the scene but was trying to find a place where he could park the large trailer he was pulling.

Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on King’s breath. King performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was arrested and advised of his rights. King said he had consumed three shots of schnapps along with a prescription narcotic.
Based on the field sobriety tests and the accident in which King struck multiple vehicles in the Walmart parking lot, officers determined he was too impaired to drive. He was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked for second offense DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and expired license plate.
Bail was set at $2,500.
