BREAKING: Man seriously wounded in shooting

A man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off at a Ruston hospital early Saturday morning, according to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office.
 
LPSO said in a press release that deputies received a call that the man had been dropped off at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center at about 3:00 a.m. Saturday. He had been seriously injured by an unspecified number of gunshot wounds.
 
Early investigation determined the shooting occurred on Pecan Street near Second Street just southeast of Ruston.
 
Patrol deputies went to the scene and secured it until detectives from the LPSO Criminal Investigative Division responded and processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses.
 
LPSO said more information will be released as it becomes available.
 
On April 16, another man with multiple gunshot wounds was found at the same intersection. Several arrests have been made in that case.
