The Louisiana Tech women’s track and field team claimed the Conference USA Sport Academic Award announced by the league on Thursday.
The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the academic year. The LA Tech women’s track and field team finished with a cumulative 3.691 GPA for the academic year.
The Bulldogs found success on the track by setting two program records and recording 25 top-10 performances throughout the season. LA Tech finished with two Conference USA champions and 13 All-Conference performances, the most in a season since 2013. Three athletes qualified for the NCAA East Regional.

In the academic arena, LA Tech also shone, with 25 CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipients and 14 CUSA Academic Medalists, both setting new program records. The Bulldogs further demonstrated their commitment to excellence, with nine athletes achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall quarter and 11 during the winter and spring quarters.
Kaylyn Heath, DaLoria Boone, Victoria Datta, Nike Praetzel, and Rebecca Quebedeaux received their diplomas throughout the year.
