
A man wanted for aggravated assault was arrested when a Grambling police officer spotted him walking on a city street Saturday.
Charvaz V. Crawford, 22, of Grambling, was booked on a warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm along with other charges.
The aggravated assault case stemmed from a 2023 incident in Grambling.
Once Crawford was stopped and positively identified, the officer found marijuana in his pocket. A set of scales with marijuana residue and a ABC 15 rifle were found in Crawford’s bookbag.
Both Crawford and a woman accompanying him claimed the firearm was hers.
Crawford was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the warrant.
Bail was set at $20,000.
