The Ruston Police Department arrested a Simsboro man Sunday after officers investigated a report of a domestic-related home invasion.
Charles Williams, 29, was charged with home invasion after allegedly going to a residence to talk to an ex-girlfriend.
The woman said Williams came to her friend’s house and she talked to him through the locked front door. She said Williams became irate and kicked the front door in when she would not let him inside. She said Williams did not physically harm her but caused severe damage to the door.

The tenant occupying the Parkidrge Lane residence said she did not give Williams permission to enter her home after she locked the front door. She said the ex-girlfriend came to the residence to get away from Williams.
After he was advised of his rights, Williams said he was outside talking to the woman when for no apparent reason, she walked inside and he attempted to follow. He said he did not kick the door but only struck it with his shoulder.
Officers found the door frame had been completely detached from the structure. Williams was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Bail was set at $25,000.
