A Choudrant woman was arrested last Wednesday after a Lincoln Parish deputy who stopped her learned she was wanted and was possessing drugs.
Britney L. Stauffer, 38, was arrested after she was stopped and a warrant was found for her arrest.
A deputy with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office saw Staffer’s Ford pickup traveling on Burgessville Road about 10:30 a.m. on July 3. A check of the license plate showed the vehicle was uninsured and its window tint appeared excessively dark.
Stauffer told the deputy it was likely there was an active child support warrant for her. Upon search of the vehicle, deputies found a glass smoking pipe and digital scale commonly associated with drug use. Stauffer said she had some suboxone in her underwear.
A check of the window tint showed 13% light transmission, far below the Louisiana legal minimum. Stauffer was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked and the suboxone, a Schedule III controlled substance was recovered.
Staffer was booked for a child support warrant from Third Judicial District Court, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, illegal window tint, and no liability insurance. Bail was set at $2,500.
