BGC confirms second Super 1 Foods coming to Ruston in 2025

A spokesperson from Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) has confirmed that the company will be building a second Super 1 Foods on Farmerville Highway in Ruston.

Morgan Jones, Director – Communications & Community for the company, provided the LPJ the following statement in regards to the decision.

Local speculation has toyed with whether the additional store would in fact be a Super 1 Foods or whether it may be a Brookshire’s or a Spring Market. The speculation and the timeline was put to rest with the statement from Jones.

“Brookshire Grocery Co. is excited to announce that a second Super 1 Foods store is coming to Ruston,” said the statement. “BGC expects to break ground at the future site, located on Farmerville Hwy, in the North Village Plaza, in early 2025. This new location will be the newest generation of its Super 1 Foods stores.

“Traditionally, Super 1 Foods offers full-scale supermarkets focused on excellent high-quality fresh meats and produce, everyday low prices, helpful staff and excellent service. The store offers products for less because it buys by the truckload directly from distributors and passes the savings on to customers. Customers will find low prices, remarkable value and a great assortment of quality fresh products. We look forward to welcoming you to our new location and celebrating this exciting milestone together.”

BGC purchased the land adjacent to North Market Village a few years ago, but recently put up signs along Farmerville Highway that brought attention to the companies future plans.

Jones said no additional details were available at this time.
