Louisiana Tech Tennis head coach Amy Sargeant finalized her 2024-25 roster on Monday with the signing of Nina Skoric, a transfer from the University of Houston.

Skoric, a 5-foot-6 right-hander from Paris, France, spent her freshman season with the Cougars where she played at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 in singles.

“Nina brings a year of college experience to LA Tech and a game-style that is going to make her opponents hate tennis,” said Sargeant. “What I admire about Nina is her love for the game, willingness to improve, and competitive spirit. She will bring energy, grit, and a team-before-self mentality.”

Skoric had a strong fall season to start her collegiate career. She posted two singles victories at both the Houston Invite and the Rice Invite. She also collected two singles wins over Kansas State and Cincinnati at the Big 12 Individual Championships.

“Coach Sargeant’s words and vision of tennis were very convincing to me and made my choice very obvious,” said Skoric on choosing LA Tech.

She also registered victories over Incarnate Word and Texas Tech to reach the Round of 16 at the ITA Texas Regional during the fall slate.

In the spring, seven of Skoric’s 11 matches came against nationally ranked teams, four of which were in the top 25. Her first collegiate win in dual singles came at North Texas where she defeated Marina Adati in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Prior to playing at UH, she competed with the French Federation Ligue Tennis Haut de Seine and Occitanie.
