The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department arrested a Choudrant man Sunday after he rode an all-terrain vehicle on the roadway and was found to be in possession of drugs and an illegal firearm.
Robert Marron, 44, was charged with numerous drug and firearms offenses about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 25.
A deputy investigating a traffic crash on Norris Road saw Marron using an off-road ATV on the roadway. When Marron apparently saw the patrol car, he left the roadway and later crossed U. S. 80 onto Pleasant Grove Road where he was stopped by the deputy.
The deputy noticed Marron’s pockets were full of bulky objects. When asked about the objects, Marron said he had narcotics on him. He produced a plastic container from his front left pocket that contained suspected methamphetamine.
Marijuana and a firearm without a serial number were located in a backpack. Marron was determined to be a convicted felon from drug charges in 2015 and 2016 and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Marron was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in proximity to control substances, and operating an off-road vehicle on a public road.
Bail was set at $37,500.
