Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Barham, Age 89, of Dubach, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Bullock and Rev. Marvin Winham officiating. Burial will follow in the Unionville Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Mr. Clyde Barham was born on December 18, 1934 to parents Doyle and Avis Barham at home in Hico, Louisiana and entered into Heaven to join his beloved wife, Betty Jo, on October 10, 2024.
Clyde served 20 years total as Military Police and Head over the motor pool for the United States Air Force before he retired in 1974. After he retired from the military, he started his own business – Betty & Clyde’s Lawn Mower Repair Shop. He also was a faithful school bus driver for the Lincoln Parish School Board for 18 years. In addition to his success professionally, Clyde was ordained as a deacon at New Prospect Baptist Church in Dubach. Together, Clyde and Betty Jo created a legacy of faith and hard work (and a love for hunting and fishing) in their family. Clyde was always willing to help those in need, and he was quick to sing “Jesus Loves Me” to anyone who would listen.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jo; his parents: Doyle and Avis Barham; his siblings: Doyle Barham, Jr., Clayton Barham, Mildred Gay, Margaret Hammons, and Joan Jacks; son, Michael Barham, and grandson, Doyle Barham Alford.
Clyde is survived by his son, Wayman Barham and his wife, Cindy, of Dubach; grandchildren: Rebecca Barham Alford, Victoria Barham Axton and her husband, Justin, Frank Spohn, Kelley and James Givens, Christy and John Kieltyka; great-grandchildren: Lillie Grace Alford, Lincoln Oliver Axton, and Judah Michael Axton as well as numerous members of the extended family and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Heard, Robert Barham, Henry Lawrence, Justin Axton, Mike Calhoun, and Bill Barham. Honorary pallbearers will be DB Gay and Don Jacks.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.
