Funeral services for Joshua “Josh” James Herring, age 43 of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel with David Wayne Herring officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Josh was loved by so many, too many to count. He enjoyed anything and everything outdoors, especially with his family. Hunting, fishing, listening to music, cooking and being with his friends were his main hobbies. He loved to grow his own food, and cooking it was even more satisfying.
Josh loved everyone and he would give them the shirt off his back if they needed it. He had many joys in life, but his greatest joy was his daughter, Abby, and his cats, Libby and Chopper. Josh was a professional Painter and he loved seeing his clients happy.
Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents: Virgil and Monnie Herring and Aubrey and Lettie Aulds; mother, Janie Fontenot and sister, Melody Herring. Josh is survived by his daughter, Abby Herring; father, James “Dude” Herring; sister, Melissa Reppond and husband Eric; brothers: Luke Herring and wife Faith and Ethan Herring and wife Katie and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.
