Ruston Police have released the name of the pedestrian killed in a crash on Cooktown Road last week.
Luis Alberto Esparza Rios, 41, of New Orleans, was struck by several vehicles as he tried to cross Cooktown Road about 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16.
According to police, Rios was staying at the Super 8 motel and apparently tried to cross from the west side of the street but was struck by oncoming traffic.
Responding officers found Rios in the inner northbound lane of Cooktown Road. The location is a busy commercial area populated by restaurants and a convenience store.
The investigation of the accident is continuing by the Ruston Police Department.
