After seeing its 20-game winning streak snapped by Neville Friday, Ruston High fell out of first place in the Class 5A poll for the first time this season.
The Bearcats dropped two spots to No. 3 behind undefeated Edna Karr and Neville. Ruston finished just one point ahead of Acadiana, a team it defeated in the season opener.
Ruston had an opportunity to tie the school win streak record of 21, but came up short in a 26-21 loss to the Tigers at Hoss Garrett Stadium.
RHS will travel to face undefeated and No. 6 Alexandria this Friday.
