GSU PD arrest student with gun in dorm

Campus police at Grambling State University arrested a student from New Orleans last week after he was found in possession of a pistol at a party in a dorm room.

Robert Urick Hudson, Jr., 18, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. November 9 in a Bowen Hall room filled with students and so much marijuana smoke that the fire alarm went off.

A GSU officer saw Hudson with a black bag which he hid in a cabinet under a sink. When the officer retrieved the bag, a Zigana PX-9 9mm pistol was found inside.

Hudson later told officers he had found the pistol a few days before in a bush at Holland Hall on the campus.

Hudson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possessing a firearm on a school campus. His bail was set at $35,000.
