Annual Christmas on the Farm set for Saturday

The Outdoor Wilderness Learning Center (OWL) is excited to host its Annual Christmas on the Farm (COTF) fundraiser presented by Argent Financial, on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the OWL facility in Dubach.

This beloved community event raises vital funds for the OWL Center’s Equine Therapy Program, which provides horse-assisted therapies for children in care at the Methodist Children’s Home, children and adults with special needs, veterans, and at-risk youth.

This year’s Christmas on the Farm will feature a full day of family-friendly activities, including pony rides, hayrides, a petting zoo, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, and festive games and activities for all ages. The entry fee is $20 per car (cash) and $5 for the ropes course.

Proceeds from the event help provide financial assistance for low-income families needing therapeutic riding services, ensuring that no one is turned away due to financial hardship.

The OWL Equine Program provides life-changing therapies to individuals with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges,” shared Samantha Luttrell, Equine Program Director. “I can see firsthand the difference therapeutic riding makes in our client’s lives. Last year, one of our riders spoke his first words in over nine years while urging his horse to ”Walk On.” This testimony underscores the OWL Equine Program’s transformative impact on its participants’ lives.

Last year’s COTF event attracted over 700 visitors and raised more than $14,000, which provided essential scholarships for riders and helped cover program costs.

“This event is more than just a celebration—it’s a chance to give back to our community while supporting a program that changes lives. We couldn’t do it without the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers,” said Luttrell.
