Motorists attempt to elude police

Two women were arrested in Lincoln Parish in separate incidents last week after attempting to elude police following alleged traffic violations.

On November 26, a Lincoln Parish deputy attempted to stop Sebastiana N. Lopez, 25, of Farmerville for improper lights as she traveled south on La. Highway 33. She refused to stop for the deputy’s lights and siren and was eventually boxed in and stopped at the traffic light at East Kentucky Avenue.

Through an interpreter, Lopez said she did not stop because she was in a hurry to get to work and did not want to lose her job. She could not produce any identification.

Lopez was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for flight from an officer, speeding, no plate light, and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the U.S. Her bail was set at $2,500.

On November 29, the Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office pursued a Frisco, Texas woman into Lincoln Parish on Interstate 20. Jiewei Wang, 34, reportedly reached speeds of 120 miles per hour fleeing a Bienville Parish deputy.

Wang stopped at milepost 79 and was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
