Simsboro to honor Homecoming Court Friday night

Simsboro High School will recognize the members of their 2024 Homecoming Court Friday at 5:30 p.m. in their basketball gymnasium prior to the Lady Tigers and Tigers hosting Glenbrook in hoops.

Congratulations to this year’s Homecoming Court.

Miss Jahkeria Kaylon Abney is the 18-year-old daughter of Krishanda and Elliott Abney. Jahkeria is currently a Simsboro High School senior and is a member of the National Honor Society, FCA, FBLA, Student Council, choir, track, cheer squad, FCCLA, FFA, and the varsity girls basketball team. 

Jahkeria is a member of Love Chapel Baptist Church where she sings in the choir. Jahkeria participated in Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Project Touch. 

Jahkeria enjoys spending time with her friends, going to church, and doing hair and make up.  Jahkeria likes to sing, dance, and spend time with her family and play with her nephew.

Upon graduation, Jahkeria plans on attending Louisiana Delta Community College to get her license in phlebotomy and further her education by going to cosmetology school.

Miss Breanna Reese Russell is the 17-year-old daughter of Brent and Keisha Russell.

Breanna is a junior at Simsboro High School.  Breanna is a member of FFA and National Honor Society and serves as the softball manager.

Upon graduation from Simsboro High School, Breanna plans to attend LSU or MSU and become a veterinarian.

Miss Thalia-Estelle Callie Harrison is the 14-year-old daughter of Eric Harrison and Jessica Harrison.

Callie is a member of Simsboro High softball, FBLA, FCA, FFA, and talented art.

Callie enjoys travel softball with G1 Impact and going to church.

Upon graduation, Callie plans to attend medical school to then become a pathologist.

Carlei Danielle Wheeler is the 17-year-old daughter of Danny and Toni Adkins.

Carlei is an all-district and all-state Simsboro High softball team member, and she is a member of the National Honor Society.

Carlei enjoys volunteering with the food bank, and playing travel softball.

Carlei plans to attend LSU-Eunice to play  softball and major in kinesiology.

Miss Bella Nevaeh Kay Coon is the 15-year-old daughter of Heath and Connie Coon.

Bella is a member of the Simsboro High track team, and National Honor Society.

Bella enjoys participating in competitive gymnastics.

Upon graduating from Simsboro High School, Bella plans to be a college gymnast at LSU.

Miss Emily Marie Madden is the 15-year-old daughter of Casey and Jessie Madden.

Emily is a member of the FBLA, National Honor Society, and FFA.

In Emily’s free time, she likes to draw/create art, and write stories.

Emily wants to go to college and major in art.

Miss Kennady Marie King is the 15-year-old daughter of Lane and Keri King.

Kennady is a member of the National Honor Society, FCA, FFA, and varsity softball team.

Kennady enjoys travel softball and volunteers at the big event at Louisiana Tech University in her spare time.

Kennady’s future plans after graduation include attending college to become an occupational therapist and to play college softball.

Miss Tamia Shaniece Graham is the 15-year-old daughter of Tamisha Cato and Marcus Graham.

Tamia is a member of  FBLA, the Simsboro choir, as well as varsity girls basketball, track, and serves as a softball manager.

Tamia is a member of the choir at Place of Change Church of Jonesboro and loves to encourage others about the word of God.

She plans to attend Louisiana Tech to earn an associate degree in diagnostic medical sonography and eventually work as a full-time ultrasound technician.

Miss Kira Marie Wright is the 17-year-old daughter of Cassandra Wright and Shawn Becks.

Kira is a member of the National Honor Society and FBLA.

Kira enjoys volunteering at local farmers markets, spending time with family and friends, and being artistic.

Kira plans to attend college to study finance, esthetics, and cosmetology in pursuit of creating her own beauty care line.

Miss Jerinity Jamrya Loyd is the 17-year-old daughter of Leslie and Latario Loyd.

Jerinity has participated in basketball, track, FBLA, FCA and FFA during her high school career.

Jerinity enjoys hanging out with friends and family, making Tik-Toks, and going to church with her family.

Jerinity’s plans after graduating include attending S & P’s Barber & Styling Academy in Arcadia.

Miss Maribel Bautista Crisostomo is the 17-year-old daughter of Cristobal Bautista and Juana Crisostomo.

Maribel has participated in NHS, FCA, FACS Club, Student Council and as a cheerleader during her high school days.

Maribel loves making TikToks, spending time with family, shopping with her siblings, and listening to music. Maribel is a leader of La Vigren Santa Maria Magdalena Pilgrimage in Quinceo Michoacan, Mexico.

Upon her graduation, Maribel plans to go to college to become a real estate agent. She would love to travel around the world and start a business.
