Armed man found with marijuana on stop

Police arrested a Ruston man Tuesday after he was found carrying marijuana and a pistol on a traffic stop.

William B. Green, 22, was stopped for excessively dark window tint on his vehicle on East California Avenue about 3 p.m. Dec. 10. When the officer approached the Green, he saw a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana hanging out of Green’s hoodie. Green also had a pistol in his waistband.

Green was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle’s driver’s seat located a digital scale commonly used to weigh drugs. The bag was found to contain over 40 grams of suspected marijuana.

Green was booked at Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Green’s bail amount was not available at publication time.
