Traffic stop yields drugs
A Farmerville man was arrested near Ruston last week after he was stopped for equipment violations and was found in possession of drugs.
Quanerrious D. Hunter, 34, was stopped on La. Hwy. 33 about 3 a.m. on Jan. 11 for improper lights on his Chevrolet Impala. As a deputy was speaking with Hunter, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.
A search revealed a glass jar containing marijuana and a single blue tablet that Hunter admitted was ecstasy. A criminal history check indicated Hunter had been arrested in Union Parish in 2024 for first offense possession of marijuana.
Hunter was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for second offense, possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA (ecstasy), possession of drug paraphernalia, improper display of license plate, and improper brake lights. His bail was said at $7,500.
