Carson Carrico pulled his best Steph Curry impression Tuesday night, hitting 10 three-pointers on his way to 42 points in leading Choudrant to an 86-62 win over Class C Georgetown.
The win was the sixth straight for the Aggies (12-13), who scored 80-plus points for the fifth time in their last six outings.
“We hit some shots early and that really got us going,” said head coach Ryan Smith. “When you can score like we did tonight, it really gives us an advantage especially at home.”
Carrico and teammate Brayden Dye combined to score 20 points in the opening quarter to give the Aggies a 28-14 advantage over Georgetown. Carrico connected on three three-pointers in the opening eight minutes, which was just a sign of things to come on the night.
The second quarter saw more of the same as Carrico drained three more trifectas and netted 11 more points as Choudrant built a 50-26 halftime advantage.
The Aggies saw a balanced offensive attack in the third quarter with seven different players putting their name in the scorebook. With Choudrant leading 66-40 heading into the final quarter, Carrico capped his impressive scoring night with four more three-pointers over the final eight minutes.
Dye and Jackson Ambrose each added 11 points for Choudrant, which will host district foe Downsville Thursday.
Logan Riggs led Georgetown with 35 points.
