Funeral services for Sheria “Lynn” Spurlock, age 77 of Choudrant, LA, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Bro. Barry Joyner and Bro. Mike Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Lynn was born to Grady Averitte and Norma Virginia Bagwell on June 24, 1947 in Downsville, LA, and passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 in Ruston, LA. Lynn loved spending time with her family and taking care of her husband of 57 years, Paul. She cherished all the moments she spent with her family in which will miss her tremendously. Lynn enjoyed breadmaking and making desserts. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy Averitte; and sisters, Bertha Marie Green, Pat Holloway, and Sue Borden Those left to cherish her memories are husband, Paul Spurlock of Choudrant, LA; son, Gary Spurlock and wife Danielle of Downsville, LA; Grandsons, Zachary Paul Spurlock, and Adam Wayne Spurlock and fiancé Laney, all of Downsville; great-grandchildren, Ireland Katherine Spurlock, and Dean Matthew Spurlock; sister, LaRuth Jones of Houston, TX; sister-in-law’s, Judy Averitte of Choudrant, LA , Sharon Duty and husband Kenneth of Farmerville, LA, and D’Wanna Spurlock of Choudrant, LA; brother-in-law, Ron Holloway of Farmerville, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends, including her Best Friend, Gayle Pylant.
