It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Antoinette Fran Tucker, age 71, who left this world on March 23, 2025. Born on February 12, 1954, Fran was a woman of remarkable strength and grace. Her unwavering love for God and her family were the cornerstones of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who could always be relied upon for prayer, encouragement, playing cards, and helping whenever she could.
Whether offering words of wisdom or sharing food (lots of it), Fran’s presence brightened every room. Fran was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Hospital Corpsman, Petty Officer 2nd class. She was also a nurse at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and worked in home health care for many years.
Fran was raised in a large south Louisiana family with brothers Charles, Sam, and Mickey Murphy, and sisters Penny McGehee, Susan Palmer, Lisa Obrin, and Marie Rassouli. She was preceded in death by her husband Randy Tucker, Sr., sons Benjamin and baby Campbell, parents Leona Bianchini Murphy and Charles Francis Murphy, her brothers Sam and Mickey, and sister Penny. She is survived by her children Samuel Campbell, Chris Campbell, Angela Campbell Charbonnet, Daniel Tucker, Randy Tucker, Jr., and Matthew Tucker. She was a devoted grandmother to Taylor, Drew, Chloe, Adam, Reese, Noah, Isaac, Evie, Levi, Kayleigh, Zane, Seariah, Ceanna, and Ellie. She also deeply loved her daughters-in-law Sherry, Stacy, Amanda, Ashley, Missy, and her son-in-law Nicholas.
She also has large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who knew her as “Aunt Franny.” Her church family at Emmanuel Baptist in Ruston will miss her dearly, but know she is with the Lord now! She was also a big fan of sewing and cutting it up at Quilteroo’s in Ruston. Fran’s gentle spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched, and her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will never be forgotten.
Two memorial services will be held: Thursday, April 3, 2025, 2 pm at Connect Church in New Orleans (1110 Kabel Drive), and on Friday, April 4, 2025, 4pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ruston, LA (1200 Farmerville Hwy).
